Reid Pope is a comedian & playwright whose work has been featured in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, PAPER, and Vulture.
They are the Co-Creator, EP, and Head Writer of Going Down: a trans-led monthly comedy news show on Brooklyn public access. They also created and ran the writer’s room for Late Stage Live! which you can read about in Them, Jezebel, and Teen Vogue.
Reid’s short film, “Lesbian Jesus Is Pregnant With Vibes”, premiered at NewFest in 2024. Reid’s TV project Old Queens won the 2023 ATX TV Festival Pitch Competition. Their short “Big Shit” was selected for the 2026 HollyShorts Comedy film festival.
Jeremy O. Harris shortlisted Reid’s play amino amino amino amino amino amino amino amino amino for the 2024 Yale Drama Prize. Their play Holocaust Lit! was selected for Fault Line Theatre’s Irons In The Fire, and Strange Fish received the Parity Productions Award.
They’re currently in production for their first feature, Cucks.
